Theodor Hermann Albert Dreiser (1871-1945) is an American writer-realist.
"financier" (1912) - the first part of the monumental "trilogy of desires", which also includes the novels "Titan" and "Stoic". It is based on the life story of a millionaire Charles Jerks. The protagonist of the trilogy is Frank Caucerwood. The commercial environment that has surrounded Frank since childhood forms the psychology of the entrepreneur in it. Starting with small speculation, gradually drawing into bold and risky operations, in conditions of cruel struggle, Kauperwood acquires a condition. Assertiveness, energy and talent make the hero a financial genius. Realizing the power of capital and professional experience he has accumulated, Frank Caucerwood proclaims his life slogan, which gave the name of the entire trilogy: "My desires are primarily."
