The monographs discusses issues related to the features of the functioning of European languages in Africa using the example of French and English in Cameroon. These languages were brought to the African continent in the colonial period and, as a result of adaptation to new sociocultural conditions, acquired unique features. The author describes the lexical features of the territorial variants of French and English, as well as a sociolinguistic and cultural context in which these languages function.
