The reader is offered one of the fundamental studies in the field of Slavic comparative historical linguistics - “Reasoning about the language of the Savvina Book”. Savvina Book is an ancient Bulgarian manuscript of the Gospel readings of the XI century., The only preserved Kirillov manuscript of the Old Slavonic Gospel. Her study belongs to the outstanding Slavist of the beginning of the 20th century, to the representative of the Moscow Linguistic School V.N. Shchepkin (1863-1920) In this work, a classification of the Old Slavonic science monuments was proposed, which has since entered all the textbooks of the Old Slavonic language. The main attention in the book is focused on the history of reduced and nasal vowels. Describing the language of Savvina, V.N. Shchepkin attracted a rich comparative material for the analysis, using the data of dialectology. Two phototypic pictures of the book are attached to the work.
