In this edition of Shakespeare"s sonnets, in translations of famous Russian poets -translators of the late XIX - early XX centuries: V. Bryusov, N. Gerbel, N. Kholodkovsky, V. Likhachev, V. Mazurkevich, A. Fedorova, M. Tchaikovsky and others. A wide variety of translation votes and approaches generates the polyphony of the great Shakespearean texts.
The book contains a biographical essay on a prominent Shakespeare, professor of Moscow University N. Storzhenko.
In parallel, English and Russian texts are given, which enables the reader to familiarize themselves with the sonnets and in the language of the original, information about poets-translators, whose works are presented on these pages.
The publication contains illustrations, is equipped with notes of the compiler and is addressed to a wide range of readers.
