A new reading of the great sonnets of Shakespeare. Translated by Arkady Shtepel, poet of underground. Arkady Shtypel saw sonnets as “modern”, as he himself writes, which is completely not visible in “classical” translations. And as less serious than it is customary to think. He tried to take metaphors that more correspond to the original, without erosion of them. I did not throw out the proseisms and vernacular, which abounds the original text. He left male rhymes inherent in the original, which, in the opinion of Arkady Shtepel, emphasizes the weight and materiality of the statement. I tried to achieve maximum sound expressiveness, but not to the detriment of the meaning.
