Part one of the textbook “Practical course of the general translation of the Chinese language” is an integral part of the universal multimedia educational-methodical complex (UMK) It is intended for the formation of the competencies of written and oral types of translation, for mastering the techniques, methods and technology of translation as a whole, to educate responsibility for competent formulation of the texts of translation by means of the native language (translation language), for the expansion of country"s background knowledge.
The book consists of five lessons, each of which, depending on the number of educational texts, is divided into three or four didactic blocks. The composition of the didactic block includes texts, a lexical minimum, linguistic and semantic commentary, where it is necessary, as well as a system of exercises. Each lesson consists of two systematically interconnected modules - module No. 1 and module No. 2. The purpose of module No. 1 - training mainly written translation, and module No. 2 is intended for the formation of interpretations of oral, bilateral, synchronous - by systematic - systematized by students the formation of the necessary skills, psychophysiological mechanisms and personality traits. Particular importance is attached to the improvement of mnemonics, the development of listening skills, switching skill, probabilistic forecasting, concentration of attention, translation endurance. At the end of the first part of the teaching materials, there is an alphabetical pointer of lexical units, included in the lexical minimum, and lexical units commented in the relevant lessons, as well as a dictionary of sustainable combinations and phrases.
The textbook is equipped with audio and video materials with an audio recording of vocabulary, texts and appropriate exercises, as well as with authentic and specially shot video clips to complete the relevant tasks. These materials are available for download on the publishing house. All exercises and tasks of the first part of the textbook are equipped with keys that are included in the third part of the teaching staff “The Book of the Teacher”
