An appeal to ancient philosophical sources requires the reader not only immersion in philosophical issues, but also an understanding by what genre laws the text has been created. Although traditionally these issues refer to the management of literature historians, it is impossible to distinguish between the "form and" content "in practice, since it is the genre that sets the direction of interpretation. But the very concept of the genre is quite contradictory, and in the lectures collected in this book, O.V. Aliyeva rethinks many of the usual oppositions with which we approach ancient sources (poetry and prose, myth and logos, etc), showing on specific examples how the choice of form of presentation can be associated with philosophy. A separate lecture is devoted to the creation and editing of texts in antiquity, as well as organizing corps and canons. The book is addressed to everyone who begins to study ancient philosophy and does not have special training in the field of classical philology
