Josephine Tay is a pseudonym, under which the Scottish writer Elizabeth Macintosh, a recognized master of the classic British detective, worked.
The novel “Mysterious Events in Frances” (also known in another translation entitled “The Betty Kane abduction”) was published in 1948, and in 1990 he took 11th line of the list “100 best detective novels of all time” according to the version according to the version British Association of Criminalist Writers. The plot of the detective is built around the abduction of a young girl who is accused of Marion Sharp and her mother. The case is investigated by Detective Alan Grant, a through hero of the cycle of six Josephine Tay novels.
