The manual discusses the urgent problems of modern Russian word formation. The derivative mechanism of the modern Russian language is characterized in a functional-dynamic aspect. New word -formation tools are described, as well as derivative processes associated with the expansion of the functions of word -formation units. Particular attention is paid to the functioning of word -formation units in modern Russian speech and their use in media and literary texts.
