Alexander Viktorovich Ilicevsky is a modern Russian writer and poet, the owner of numerous literary awards. In 2007, his novel “Matisse” was awarded the Russian Bucher Award and won a high appreciation of both the jury of the competition and readers.
The novel tells about the hard fate of people who, for various reasons, have found themselves in difficult life circumstances and are trying to find their way in the whirlpool of events of the 90s of the XX century in Russia. The main characters of the novel are the tramps and the former graduate-physicist by the name of Korolev joined them. Together they go on a journey through the expanses of the country in search of what is missing in everyday life, flee from everyday life and lack of freedom.
The reader is given the opportunity to get acquainted with the work of modern Russian literature translated into German. The publication is equipped with comments and a dictionary. The book is addressed to a wide range of people who speak German at medium and advanced levels
