The publication presents the fourth and fifth issues of "materials to the vocabulary of metaphors and comparisons of Russian literature of the XIX-XX centuries." The basis of this dictionary is the principle of the semantic field, or the thesis principle of grouping of the paths, as a more complete cover of figurative fields.
In addition to the principle of semantic fields, the material in the dictionary is also located according to the diachronic principle. In addition to the idea of the composition of the system of comparative paths and its development, from "materials ..." can also be obtained related to the temporary characteristics of this system (its composition at different periods of development of the language of fiction)
Thus, the dictionary shows the system of figurative means of Russian literature in its connection with the poetic picture of the world and the evolution of this system.
The fourth release of the dictionary includes the metaphors and comparisons located in ideographic order, in which various realities (person, soul, thought, word, time, light, fire, wind, etc) are compared with stones and metals. The fifth issue contains comparative paths, the images of which belong to the semantic class "fabric, fabric products".
Formal subclasses of comparative paths - metaphors (including metaphors -riddles, genetic metaphors, metaphorical peripheraps, identification structures), comparison, parallelism, metamorphosis are clearly identified. Among the comparisons, comparisons are highlighted as such, comparisons with verbs (the basis of comparison is the verb), with adjectives, comparisons -applications.
The dictionary can be useful for various studies on the theory and history of the language of fiction, in the practice of university and school teaching. It is of interest to the widest circle of readers interested in the figurative means of the Russian language and literature.
