The book continues a series of issues of a lexicographic publication that solves the problem of a holistic description of metaphors and comparisons in the evolutionary aspect. The sixth issue of the dictionary presents the first experience of describing comparative paths, the images of which belong to the semantic category "Man". The dictionary is based on the ideographic principle of grouping paths. In addition to the ideographic principle, the material is located according to the diachronic principle. In addition, the language material is distributed by syntactic types of structures, which helps to better understand the dynamics of the grammatical structure of comparative paths in its history. The main source of the dictionary is the poetic and prosaic works of Russian writers of the XIX -XXI centuries (about 500 authors)
The dictionary can be useful for various studies on the theory and history of the language of fiction, in the practice of university and school teaching.
