Valentina Maslova is professor of philology at Vitebsk State University. She is one the founders linguistic-culturology, a new science taught at several Russian universities. Many Russian authors have written about linguistic-culturology, but the concept is generally unknown in English. Through the use of language, linguistic-culturology tries to reveal the mentality of a nation and its culture. Translated by Alfred Santos
