A distinctive feature of this textbook is that its structure and content provide the most favorable conditions for the independent work of students, which allows you to use it not only on daytime, but also in correspondence departments of universities, as well as in the self -education system. The textbook is built on the principle of cyclicity: all its material is distributed into 17 sections, each of which contains grammatical material, exercises, texts, lexical minimum, as well as a phased presentation of the methodology of grammatical analysis and translation from the Latin language into Russian. After the 5th, 12th and 17th sections, summarizing the large topics of Latin grammar, final tests are given (each in 5 options).
The textbook contains the Latin-Russian dictionary and anthology composed of articles of mythological and historical content, as well as adapted excerpts from Caesar, Cicero and Tacitus. All texts are equipped with a real and linguistic commentary. In addition, three applications are included in the textbook: 1) Roman calendar, 2) Roman names, 3) tests with keys to check the assimilation of grammatical and, partly - cultural material.
