The book includes a monograph and a number of articles on the Russian language of the Soviet period. In a problem-thematic basis, the collection is a continuation of the previously published monograph by N. A. Kupina "The Totalitarian Language" and is focused on the phenomenon of linguistic resistance to totalitarianism. The two main ways of resistance - the fight against the totalitarian language and the linguistic confrontation - are considered by the author on the material of explanatory dictionaries, artistic prose, poetry, colloquial speech. As a result, the nature of the opposition of the pressure of absolute political power is determined, the general picture of the functioning of the Russian language in the USSR is clarified.
