Introduction to Linguistics. Textbook

The manual covers the key problems of linguistics: the origin of the language, morphology, syntax, lexicology, semantics, stylistics. One of the chapters considers the stylistic classification of the vocabulary, expressive means and stylistic techniques of the English language. Theoretical material is complemented by tasks, the purpose of which is to help students almost master the basics of linguistics, improve language and translation skills. Each section is accompanied by issues and exercises to control the assimilation of knowledge - these tasks can be used both in training sessions with the teacher, and for independent work (self -control) The final part of the manual contains a list of linguistic terms, as well as texts for additional reading devoted to the issues of nature and the evolution of the language.
