Innovation and tradition of the Russian translation school

The reader’s attention is proposed to the collective work of the authors discussing the “pros” and “against” the traditional concept of “Russian translation of the translation” in application to the past and present of domestic translation science. The chapters on the censorship of translation in Russia, the publication of unknown materials from the archives of the 1920s are especially interesting. Soviet translator I.A. Kashkin, the first complete overview of B.F. Schlecera, returning the name of the famous translator L.N. Tolstoy. The prospects for the study of film adaptation, audiovisual and synchronous translation planned in the book make it truly relevant.
