The textbook is an adaptation of the famous fairy tale of the Russian writer Anthony Pogorelsky (1787-1836) “Black Chicken, or underground residents”. This fascinating story about a ten-year-old boy who falls into the underground kingdom receives a wonderful ability as a gift, and then loses his friend because of his cowardice. A fairy tale teaches children honesty, fidelity and kindness. After each chapter, exercises are offered aimed at expanding the lexical reserve, developing grammatical constructions and the development of oral speech skills. New words are included in the dictionary, which is placed at the end of the book. The manual is designed for students in grades 3-4 of schools, gymnasiums and lyceums. The book is accompanied by an audio application
