The manual presents theoretical material on the syntax of modern English. In its presentation, a modern approach is used to solve theoretical provisions based on the principles of cognitive grammar. In addition to traditional chapters and sections, usually included in the syntax textbooks, new topics are offered in the manual, in particular, the chapter dedicated to the types and types of phrases in English, the section "Actual division of the sentence (theme-prime structure of sentences), issues of the interaction of potential and Actual (communicative) syntax and some particular problems. The source of illustrative material is fiction. At the end of the manual, the terminological dictionary and subject -function pointer are given.
