The action of the novel in the verses of the Indian writer, translator Vikram Set (born 1952) takes place in California in the 1980s. The main character of the book, the prosperous San Francisian Jappy of the time of the silicon valley, suddenly feels the futility of existence. The twenty -six -year -old Byronite, his lovers and friends are trying to answer the main questions of our time. The novel is written in English of the classical "Onegin Stanza". The text aroused the close interest of readers and critics, for thirty years was repeatedly reprinted, translated into a number of European languages.
