Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm gained worldwide fame as collectors of ancient German legends and fairy tales. However, in addition to the folk culture of Germany, the brothers were also interested in the folklore of other countries, in particular Scandinavian and Irish. In 1826, they even published a collection of Irish Tales of Elves", selected works from which made up the proposed edition.
Tales are adapted according to the method of Ilya Frank: equipped with a literal translation into Russian and the necessary lexicogram commentary. The uniqueness of the method consists in the fact that memorization of words and expressions occurs due to their repeatability, without memorization and the need to use the dictionary. In addition, the reader gets used to the logic of the German language, begins to "feel" it.
The manual contributes to the effective development of the language, can serve as an addition to the curriculum.
