The purpose of the publication is to give people involved in the theory and history of the language, an interesting, deeply thought -out program for further research. The book contains and groups by the headings of A.A. Potebni on the theory of peace, poetry and prose that he used in reading special courses of the theory of poetry. The “grammar of the text” is considered by the author from the point of view of such key concepts of philological science as poetry and prose, paths and figures, poetic and mythical thinking. Each of these phenomena is essentially a new direction of scientific research. Particular attention in the book is paid to the consideration of paths and figures. The author not only analyzes the types of paths, but also evaluates the subjective means of expressiveness, separately speaks of fable and proverb and generally gives a systematic idea of the world of artistic details of the text.
