The book contains studies performed at the junction of grammar and discourse. The author’s focus is the phenomenon of the integration of individual statements into larger unity - from complex sentences to a whole coherent text. The grammatical, lexical and prosodic mechanisms of this integration are studied in the descriptive, typological and theoretical context. The material is the data of Japanese, Russian and a number of other languages. Particular attention is paid to lively speech, including the data of electronic corps of oral discourse.
