The dictionary contains a description of the vocabulary of modern Russian colloquial speech. The dictionary is experimental in nature and, unlike most academic explanatory dictionaries, is not normative. The task of the compilers was to reflect in vocabulary semantic, grammatical, compensatory, stylistic properties of lexical and phraseological means used in the daily speech of a modern urban resident, as well as features of their use in different situations of informal, in advance not prepared spontaneous communication. The material for the dictionary was the recordings of the oral Russian speech of the second half of the 20th- early 21st centuries, modern fiction, journalism, press, television and radio broadcasts, film scores, various genres of Internet communication (blogs, forums, chats, etc)
The principles of the selection of vocabulary, the forms and methods of its lexicographic representation are described in the preface to the 1st issue of this dictionary (M., 2014)
The fifth issue describes about 4000 words and phraseological units.
The publication is designed primarily for lexicographers and specialists in the field of studying Russian spoken speech, as well as representatives of other linguistic specialties. The dictionary can be useful to those native speakers who, not being associated with the word professionally, are interested in the problems of the Russian language, its development and the modern state
