Ethnic stereotypes through the prism of the language

This monograph conducts a study in line with the anthropocentric paradigm of linguistic studies: the problem of reflecting ethnic stereotypes in the language, which is the result of complex relationships of language - human - world is considered. To study the language representation of ethnic stereotypes, the author uses proverbs and sayings, texts of Russian -speaking jokes, as well as the results of a sociolinguistic survey. Based on a comprehensive linguistic cultural study of jokes of jokes, the methodology of their contextual and presient analysis is developed, genre specifics and classification are described, linguistic means of explicating the ethno -stereotypes of Russians, Kazakhs and Germans are revealed. Particular attention is paid to the analysis of ethnonyms, anthroponyms and toponyms, which are stable national text -forming components in the reflection of a stable language picture of the world that objects the usual objective world.
