This publication is a full course of English for medical schools and colleges, consisting of two parts. The first part of the complex - the introductory course - is aimed at the formation of the initial skills of reading and translating the popular science text, as well as oral communication on topics related to the future profession of students. The second part - the main course - aims to form and develop skills in working with more complex sources of information - scientific and special medical texts. The system of tasks proposed by the authors forms an algorithm for analysis and reading of English -speaking texts, ensuring their understanding, extracting the necessary information and fixing it in various ways (performing a written translation, compiling an annotation, filling out tables containing certain facts, etc) The development of the skills of oral communication is also focused on communication in conditions of professional activity. The author’s methodological concept of teaching foreign languages "for special purposes" provides students with knowledge, skills and skills necessary for further independent study and use of a foreign language in a professional activity.
