The dictionary is the most complete consolidated dictionary of Russian folk dialects, where the lexical and phraseological wealth of Russian folk speech is recorded with the whole set of meanings of words and phraseological combinations and shows the features of their use in Russian dialects of the XIX-XX centuries. The dictionary is based on direct observations of living folk speech, works of oral folk art, works on ethnography, and the history of culture. The dictionary first seems to be a detailed description of the semantic content of the vocabulary of all Russian dialects, the development paths of secondary meanings are traced, grammatical, stylistic, estimated, areas and chronological characteristics of dialect vocabulary are given. At the present stage, the problems of Russian dialect lexicography are able to analyze a detailed analysis on the materials of the dictionary.
