How often, reading Russian classics, we feel like foreigners who have fallen into the country unknown to us. Let us recall the description of Khlestakov in the Gogol"s "Examiner": a young man flaunts in a dress, and even in the "Ghostular"! For many modern readers, this word requires "translation". Such difficulties can arise when studying the works of A. S. Pushkin, L. N. Tolstoy, F. M. Dostoevsky, A.P. Chekhov and other famous authors.
Our dictionary contains an explanation of obsolete words, phraseological turns, stable phrases (names of state institutions, posts, forms of circulation, etc) Illustrative material is represented by examples from classical Russian literature of the late XVIII - early XX centuries.
The dictionary will be not only useful, but also extremely interesting to schoolchildren, students, teachers of the Russian language and literature, as well as the widest circle of readers
