In the monograph “The concepts“ head ”,“ face ”,“ hand ”in Russian and English, fragments of the language picture of the world are represented. The object of research is the key toxes of the above concepts. A fundamentally new approach to the study of mental units is applied through the prism of the semantic structure of the word, a set of methods is used. The analysis of the basic concepts of cognitive linguistics and linguoculturology is given, the structure, content and national specifics of the concepts of bodily code is revealed. The material of the study was the vocabulary of explanatory, phraseological, word -formation dictionaries, as well as texts of artistic and journalistic works. The monograph can be of interest to linguists, culturalists, translators, teachers and all those interested in intercultural communication
