The “Castard” is a satirical story by George Orwell, published in 1945. The story depicts the evolution of the animal society from endless freedom to the dictatorship of the pig, nicknamed Napoleon. In the story, Orwell convincingly showed a gradual transition from the ideas of universal equality to dictatorship and totalitarianism. Critics call this work as an acute satire on the 1917 revolution in Russia.
