Readers are offered a manual in the ancient Icelandic language, written by a famous domestic philologist, the largest specialist in the Scandinavian languages and the general linguistics of M.I. Stublin-Kamensky (1903-1981) The book consists of a theoretical part, which gives information on phonetics, morphology, syntax and word formation of the ancient Icelandic language, readings for reading, preceded by brief introductory essays, as well as dictionary with the necessary information of a grammatical and etymological nature. Among the texts are two songs from the Elder Edda, excerpts from the younger Edda, "Saga about people from the sandy coast" and other works.
