The collection presents articles on linguistic aspects of the analysis of the absurd as a logical and aesthetic category, manifested in language and in texts. Language forms of nonsense are investigated: alogism, um, irony, linguistic game. The mechanisms of absurd modeling in folklore, sacred, as well as in the literary texts of D. Harms, V. Khlebnikov, Sasha Sokolov, in modern abstract jokes are opened. Research is carried out on the material of Russian, English, Polish, as well as Sanskrit. Articles reflect the content of the conference of the same name by the Institute of Linguistics, held in November 2016. In the section “From the Linguistic Heritage”, the classical works of M.V. are presented Panova and V. Ayrapetyan, in which the concept of absurdity is rethought in a wide linguistic and cultural aspects.
The collection is addressed to linguists, philologists, culturalists, all those interested in the problems of language and communication in the context of culture.
