The manual is designed for organizing both in-class and extracurricular activities aimed at developing functional literacy in younger schoolchildren - the ability to apply accumulated knowledge and experience to solve a wide range of tasks. Linguistic literacy is one of the components of functional literacy and provides the opportunity to acquire communicative and reading skills during the communication process. The manual includes introductory and final tasks, as well as practice exercises for each year of study. The peculiarity of the manual lies in the fact that most tasks simulate situations from the real life of children of this age, taking into account their interests and communication experience. The content of the manual will promote motivation for learning the Russian language, reinforce subject knowledge, and expand the possibilities of applying language knowledge when working with texts. The manual is developed based on the current Federal State Educational Standard for General Education. Answers to some tasks are variable, and the correctness criterion is determined taking into account the student's explanations or arguments.
