Among the military pilots, high-maneuverable and easy to operate the La-7, along with the Yak-3, was considered one of the best fighters of the Second World War. Having accepted combat baptism in 1944, the La-7 demonstrated in air battles the full superiority over the Messerschmitt, "Fokkers", "Lightnings" and other foreign "aircraft gates". The fighter most fully corresponded to the formula A.I. Pokryshkin "speed, maneuver, fire", and this earned the love and respect of our aviators.
Such illustrious pilots as the Hero of the Soviet Union I.N. fought on La-7. Kozhedub, one of the first to destroy Hitler"s reactive hope, the Me-262 aircraft, twice the heroes of the Soviet Union Amet-Khan Sultan, A.V. Alelyukhin, V.D. Lavrinenkov. These and other pilots, who became national heroes, confirmed the best sides of the car in the battles.
The La-7 combat career ended in the fall of 1945 in the Far East, but the aged veteran was used only for educational purposes, continued to serve until the early 1950s.
This book pays tribute to one of the most beloved by our aviators, the legendary La-7 fighter. The publication is illustrated by many exclusive photographs and drawings
