Ivan Stepanovich Konev was one of those young Soviet commander who crushed the most powerful military power in Europe in the 30s and 19th century in Europe - the army of the Third Reich. This commander distinguished the ability to prepare and carry out large-scale front operations, including the surrounding and destroying of huge enemy groupings. None of the operations conducted by horseback did not repeat the other. The book tells about the life of an outstanding commander, about the failures of the first battles and brilliantly conducted by the Battles of the Great Patriotic War, about the relationship between Konev with Stalin, Zhukov and Khrushchev and its post-war activities, including participation in the construction of the Berlin Wall and suppressing the Hungarian uprising. For the first time, rare documents from the family archive of horseback are published
