The monograph presents a sociological, historical and semiotic analysis of knowledge about the past. The synthesis of these approaches allows the authors to develop modern ideas about the "meaning and meaning of" history, separating scientific historical knowledge from mythological, religious, philosophical, aesthetic. According to the author"s concept, all these types of knowledge should be considered as having independent importance and the formation mechanisms that specify different ways to design the images of the past.
