When the authors were very young, they were interested in watching their grandmothers perform sacred rituals in the kitchen... Back then, during Soviet times, the availability of products was much worse than it is now. But the shortage of goods did not mean a shortage of culinary imagination. On the contrary, it fueled the imagination and awakened the creative spirit in people. In the absence of the Internet, everyone eagerly exchanged ideas, secrets of signature dishes, recipes for holidays and everyday meals with each other. And they wrote them down in special notebooks. Usually, it was the grandmothers who did this, as they are the keepers of family traditions, in which communal dining plays a huge role. The authors of the book carefully preserved the notebooks of their grandmothers and now offer readers some selected recipes.
