The book tells about Julia Robinson (1919-1985) - one of the most famous female mathematicians in the USA. Julia's biography is written by her sister, Constance Reid, a writer, author of popular science books. The translation into Russian and the Russian edition of the book were carried out by acad. of the Russian Academy of Sciences Y. V. Matiyasevich - whose solution in 1970 to Hilbert's tenth problem was based on the results of Julia Robinson's preceding work.
