Collections of poems by Joseph Brodsky (1940-1996) 'Stop in the Desert', 'The End of the Beautiful Era', 'Part of Speech', 'New Stanzas to August', 'Urania' and 'Landscape with Flooding' were published in the 1970s-1990s by the American publishing house 'Ardis', which for many years released works of Russian literature that could not see the light in their homeland. Brodsky wrote that this publishing house saved numerous Russian writers and poets from oblivion and changed the climate of Russian literature.
The collection 'The End of the Beautiful Era' includes poems from the late 1960s to the early 1970s, including 'Speech about Spilled Milk', 'Dedicated to Yalta', 'Conversation with a Deity', 'Lithuanian Divertissement', and others.
