"Chronicles", published in Russian in full, were prepared for printing in the mid-1930s. Outstanding historian S.Ya. Borov, but not missed by the Soviet censorship in the memorable 1937.
The main body of the book contains the most vivid evidence of contemporaries and eyewitnesses "Khmelnichina" - the terrible defeat of most of the Jewish communities of Eastern Europe in 1648-1649. Nathan Hannover"s Chronicles "Packed Cancer", Meira from Schruzhechin"s "Times" and Sabbath Gauge "Message" were already two or three years after the events described were published and subsequently reprinted many times, becoming not only the most important historical source, but also by a passionate appeal to Teshwa - repentance and moral revival of the people. Such perception and awareness of the tragedy of the era became the basis of the spiritual recovery of the nation
