Theodore Diver is the famous American writer and public figure. His works affecting acute social problems enjoyed tremendous success with readers all over the world and still cause the most lively interest. Roman "Jenny Gerhardt" (1911), in which the story of the girl from the poor family is told, is considered the most poetic in the work of the drivester. Criticism did not immediately appreciate the writer"s talent: his writings were called immoral, cynical and dislike the American dream. In 1930, Sinclair Lewis in his Nobel speech said that the Prize was to go to the theodore of the Drier, because he he freed the American literature from Victorian timidity and sent it along the way of a bold, honest and passionate image of life
