Maria Georgievna Mironova is a poet and literary critic. She graduated with honors from the philological faculty of Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov. She is a member of the Union of Writers of the Russian Federation. She was a state scholarship holder in 2008 in the category of 'Outstanding Figures in Culture and Art'. 'January Sun' is Maria Mironova's fourth collection of poems. The text was mainly composed over the past eleven years, including some poems from earlier lyrics. This book is primarily about the growth of the soul and its clarification, about the fact that, no matter how charmed it is by the beauty and inexhaustibility of the world calling to live by its elements, the path requires choice and spiritual self-determination. The section titles reflect the direction of this movement towards its depth: 'From the Storm of Equinox', 'On the Side of Light', 'New Jerusalem'. The collection includes three wreaths of sonnets: 'Maturation', 'Dawn', 'About Love', - which turned out to be the author's approaches to understanding the past and, as a triptych, a kind of metaphorical autobiography, two short poems are also included.
