In the monograph, written by the famous historian and political scientist Alek D. Epstein, analyzed the course of the negotiation process between Israeli and Palestinian leaders in the 1990s - 2000s, ranging from the contacts preceding the Oslo Agreement to the present. The history of diplomatic activities, which involved both representatives of the parties and influential international mediators, is complemented by the consideration of public opinion polls, allowing to evaluate how government figures can count on support from society in the event of the initiation of those or other steps aimed at changing the current Currently situations. The author proposes to move from the paradigm of bilateral negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian administration to the approach that is in the head of the corner of Israel"s relations with border countries - Jordan and Egypt, expressing the opinion that only a similar three-way interstate format can give hope for the settlement of the Palestinian problem.
