"The Island" (1962) is the last, most mysterious and mystical work of Aldous Huxley, in which the ideas of the cult novel "Brave New World" found continuation. Conceived by the author as an anti-utopia, this work turned out to be much larger than the narrow confines of the utopian genre. This truly great philosophical novel is a reflection of modern society. "Ape and Essence" (1948) is a fantastic anti-utopia, a kind of warning from the writer about an impending nuclear catastrophe that will wipe almost everything off the face of the earth, and the survivors will try to build a new society from the ruins of the former civilization. "The Genius and the Goddess" (1955) may seem like a rather banal story about a love triangle at first glance. However, the author managed to fill this story with depth, touching on important questions about fate and personal choice, the conflict between emotions and reason, duty, honor, and love.
