The monograph presents a comparative study of the clinical features and key indicators of iron metabolism in lung diseases that are indicative of HIV. The leading secondary diseases in HIV, often being the first manifestations of HIV infection, are pneumonias caused by opportunistic fungal infection P. jirovecii (pneumocystis pneumonia) and the specific agent M. tuberculosis (tuberculosis), with the possibility of developing a dissemination syndrome in both diseases. The use of iron metabolism indicators as parameters for the comparative analysis of these diseases is presented for the first time. Studies of patients with pulmonary tuberculosis and pneumocystis pneumonia in combination with HIV infection are provided. Intended for pulmonologists, infectious disease specialists, phthisiologists, and general practitioners.
