Lev Romanovich Sheinin (1906-1967) was a Soviet writer, screenwriter, and editor. He worked for the Prosecutor's Office of the USSR, was a state counselor of justice 2nd class, and a member of the Special Council. He had an extraordinary biography and an amazing destiny. At the age of 25, he wrote a textbook on criminology and took part in the investigation of the assassination of S. M. Kirov. In 1938, A. Vyshinsky wrote a preface to his first book "Notes of an Investigator." Sheinin participated in the Nuremberg Trials, was arrested twice, and received the Stalin Prize for the film "Meeting on the Elbe." He did not deny himself anything. He became the hero of a poetic fable: "On the shores of literature, peacefully graze the Tur brothers, And with them, leading the amours, is Lev Sheinin from the Prosecutor's Office." This is all about Lev Sheinin. Our publishing house is making the first attempt to present to the reader his first collection in the most complete way.
