The intuitive comprehension of truth is one of the most mysterious phenomena of human cognitive activity. In the literature and in everyday life, we are constantly meeting with mention of this phenomenon. The nature of intuition, however, has been considered incomprehensible for many centuries. In this book, for the first time in the domestic literature, a systematic essay of the history of the problem of intuition and modern approaches to its solution is given. The author opposes mystical and irrationalistic views on intuition a rational understanding of it as a specific cognitive process. Its properties are revealed, its place in the system of cognitive activity of man, its role in everyday life and in creativity. Various cognitive types of intuition are allocated and their mechanisms are described.
