The training manual presents issues included in the basic educational course "Zoopsychology and Comparative Psychology", which are based on ideas about the origin and evolution of the psyche developed by the Russian psychologist A.N. Leontyev. External causes of behavior, biological foundations of perception, various forms of learning in animals, as well as the biological foundations of social behavior are considered. A detailed characteristic of instinctive forms of animal behavior is given, the theory of instincts developed by the founders of ethology K. Lorenz and N. Tinbergen is described, the problem of innate and acquired in behavior is analyzed. For students studying the disciplines "physiology of higher nervous activity", "psychophysiology", "anthropology" and "psychogenetics"
