The book provides a formulation of quantum field theory in terms of a continuum integral. It presents a general method for quantizing nonholonomic systems, and based on this, a scheme for quantizing gauge-invariant field theories is constructed. An invariant procedure for renormalizing gauge theories is formulated. Applications of gauge fields in elementary particle physics are discussed. The second edition of the book includes sections on lattice gauge fields and explicitly covariant quantization methods (BRS quantization), as well as expanded sections on the S-matrix and anomalies in quantum theory. The book is recommended for scientific researchers specializing in theoretical and mathematical physics, as well as for students, graduate students, and faculty members of physics departments at universities.
