Unlike most of the existing introductions to the New Testament, the proposed textbook is not limited to answers to questions: who, when, where and for what purpose, wrote this or that work. Famous modern theologians and biblebists Peter are submissive and Ulrich Gekkel see their task to close biblical with questions of New Testament theology and thereby learn how to soberly reconstruct on the basis of existing texts of their occurrence of their occurrence, accurately define theological intention of early Christian authors and express exegetically meaningful overall understanding New Testament Scriptures. First of all, the authors consider, they must speak the texts themselves inside their contexts.
Thanks to the co-authorship of the famous modern biblieist and theologian Peter, Pokorno and a specialist in the field of exegetic, the New Testament of Ulrich Geckel turned out to be a classic academic textbook. On the one hand, this is a serious scientific project, which serves to understand all the most significant aspects of the literature of the New Testament, on the other hand, the book considers exegetic problems, connecting the richest historical and cultural information of the New Testament science with a deep theological understanding.
